Hello from the United States. Found this place looking for something sensible about chronic pain. Chronic condition, long history, low tolerance for hype. See you in the threads.

Same here.

How long have you been on chronic pain?

Ask for the longer appointment slot. Ten minutes is not enough for a complex history and pretending otherwise wastes both your time.

How do you tell the difference between the drug working and just a good week?

The pain score conversation is thirty seconds of my life I will never get back, every time. Side effects was my main issue with chronic pain too.

Sorry for the basic question, but how do you actually start one of these diaries?

You are not imagining it and you are not being difficult. Document it and take the document in.

Enteric coatings should not be crushed. The pellets are the delivery mechanism.

Worth repeating that this is not medical advice and the answer often depends on who you are. Not on chronic pain but the pattern is familiar.

Following this because I am in the same place and have no idea what to ask at the appointment.

Personal experience, labelled as such, is exactly right here. Nobody is prescribing.
