Started Dilaudid (hydromorphone) six weeks ago for pain and I am trying to work out whether what I am feeling now is tolerance or something else.
There is a point in the afternoon where the effect is gone and the restlessness starts, and that point has moved earlier over six weeks.
Has anyone else found a way to describe this that lands in an appointment?
Interdose restlessness is distinct from the original symptom and worth naming separately.

It gets smaller. Not easy, smaller. That distinction kept me going. Same for me with hydromorphone, unfortunately.
Same shape here, different drug. The thing that helped was documenting the refusal rather than re-arguing it. They refer rather than write. Six weeks in on hydromorphone and it lines up.

Same here.
Currently on hydromorphone myself.
Sorry for the basic question, but how do you actually start one of these diaries?
Is it normal to feel worse before better? Nobody told me that. Six weeks in on hydromorphone and it lines up.
Function over score. Tolerance was my main issue with hydromorphone too.
Same here.

My pharmacist has become my actual doctor and I am at peace with it.
