I have been on gabapentin for a fortnight and the thing nobody warned me about is the dizziness.
What helped was writing down what I could physically do that day rather than a pain score. Numbers lie, function does not.
Timing matters more than I expected. Taking it at the same hour every day made the dizziness less random.
What I was not prepared for is how much of this is administrative rather than clinical.
Posting partly so that the next person searching finds an answer sooner.
The pain score conversation is thirty seconds of my life I will never get back, every time.
Same here.
Dizziness was my main issue with gabapentin too.
Half of what people describe as tolerance is a change in the underlying condition, and the two need different answers. Currently on gabapentin myself.
Ask for the longer appointment slot. Ten minutes is not enough for a complex history and pretending otherwise wastes both your time.
Same here.
Careful with attribution. You changed the timing, the dose and the season. That is three variables.
How do you tell the difference between the drug working and just a good week?
