Started capsaicin cream three weeks ago for pain and I am trying to work out whether what I am feeling now is tolerance or something else.
What I was not prepared for is how much of this is administrative rather than clinical.
There is a point in the afternoon where the effect is gone and the restlessness starts, and that point has moved earlier over three weeks.
Interested mainly in what people wish they had known at the start.
Worth asking what specifically was measured. Pain scores move with mood and function does not. Currently on capsaicin cream myself.
Enteric coatings should not be crushed. The pellets are the delivery mechanism.
Changing prescriber does not reset anything, and people discover that the hard way. How long have you been on capsaicin cream?
Everyone here blames the drug. Half the time it is the appointment schedule, not the molecule.
Function over score.

Ten percent cuts. Slower is faster.
I would stop trying to convey how bad it is and start saying what you want them to do.
Same here.
How long have you been on capsaicin cream?
Is it normal to feel worse before better? Nobody told me that.

The pain score conversation is thirty seconds of my life I will never get back, every time.
Careful with attribution. You changed the timing, the dose and the season. That is three variables.
