Question about Japan Post: what does it actually look like when it is done properly, and what should I be checking?

What I have learned is that the 18 day mark is the point to start the process, not the point to panic.

PostNL scans are generated at the hub, so a silent tracking page is not evidence of a problem for the first 18 days.

The reference number on the letter is the only way anyone will find the file again, so it goes in the subject line of everything.

What is the thing you check first now?

What do you do about the fee? Do you just pay it?

Do you contact the customs office or the carrier first?
