Canada Post has held my parcel for 16 days with no scan. Is that normal for this route or should I start the process?

The prepaid card route gives you recourse and the transfer route gives you a lower price. Pick which you actually want.

Small, light and boring passes. Large, branded and interesting gets examined.

Canada Post scans are generated at the hub, so a silent tracking page is not evidence of a problem for the first 16 days.

The address matters more than the contents after a while, and nobody warns you about that.

Has the handling changed recently for anyone else?

Fees like that are charged by the carrier, not the state, which is why they are hard to contest.

“Registered with” is doing an enormous amount of work in that sentence. Five years in on a sorting hub and it lines up.

“Dispatched” means the label was printed. That is the entire meaning of the word.
