Question for the people who have taken escitalopram long term: did the emotional blunting ever settle, or is that just the price of admission?

There is a point in the afternoon where the effect is gone and the restlessness starts, and that point has moved earlier over a fortnight.

The leaflet lists the emotional blunting as common and then says nothing useful about how long it lasts.

What helped was writing down what I could physically do that day rather than a pain score. Numbers lie, function does not.

Timing matters more than I expected. Taking it at the same hour every day made the emotional blunting less random.

The first three weeks are worse than the condition and then it turns, which nobody says clearly enough.

Would rather hear from people who have lived it than from the leaflet.

Ten percent cuts. Slower is faster. How long have you been on escitalopram?

Following this because I am in the same place and have no idea what to ask at the appointment. Same for me with escitalopram, unfortunately.

Half of what people describe as tolerance is a change in the underlying condition, and the two need different answers.

Is it normal to feel worse before better? Nobody told me that.
