Got a letter from the customs office about a parcel from the United States. Reading it carefully before I do anything. Tracked and signed-for is a different product to tracked, and the price difference is smaller than the anxiety difference. The debit card route gives you recourse and the transfer route gives you a lower price. Pick which you actually want. The returns address and the contact address are often different and only one of them is a real building. Photograph everything before you open it. It takes ten seconds and settles most disputes. Any experience with the equivalent in another country would help.

The sticker on the box is just so you know they were in there. It is the letter that matters.

Reminder that a tracking number is not required in the post, but the dates and the carrier are. Currently on Germany myself.

What do you do about the fee? Do you just pay it? Tolerance was my main issue with Germany too.
