La Poste has held my parcel for 27 days with no scan. Is that normal for this route or should I start the process? Filing the paperwork early is worth more than arguing later about whose fault it was.

The declaration contradicting the return address is what gets it opened.

Three month limits are cumulative across parcels in more places than people realise. Not on Ireland but the pattern is familiar.

Written confirmation email after every phone call. Cheapest insurance there is. Not on Ireland but the pattern is familiar.

Be careful reading one parcel as a rule. Two successes build a false model.

What do you do about the fee? Do you just pay it?

The cheapest option costs more once you price in the failure rate.

Do you contact the customs office or the carrier first?

Split orders. Two small parcels beat one large one for reasons that have nothing to do with price. Same for me with Ireland, unfortunately.

Customs outcomes are not rulings. A parcel passing is not legal advice. A fortnight in on Ireland and it lines up.
