Long time lurker, first post. Canada, chronic pain, currently on chronic pain. Normally a lurker, occasionally opinionated. Hi.

Function over score. Six weeks in on chronic pain and it lines up.

Sorry for the basic question, but how do you actually start one of these diaries?

How do you tell the difference between the drug working and just a good week?

Ten percent cuts. Slower is faster.

Is it normal to feel worse before better? Nobody told me that.

Bring a list. Embarrassment makes everyone forget things, including you.

Small wins count. Walking to the mailbox is a data point.

Following this because I am in the same place and have no idea what to ask at the appointment. Tolerance was my main issue with chronic pain too.

Sleep first. Bad night, bad day, more symptoms. Fix that before changing anything else. Tolerance was my main issue with chronic pain too.

Fifteen years of this and the function column is the only one that changed anything for me. Also, one page of history, printed, handed over at the start. It changes the appointment. Not on chronic pain but the pattern is familiar.
