My doctor moved me from one benzodiazepine to Valium (diazepam) and the first three weeks were rough in a way nobody prepared me for.
Withdrawal symptoms are not the same as side effects, and conflating them wasted a year of my life.
There is a point in the afternoon where the effect is gone and the restlessness starts, and that point has moved earlier over six weeks.
Memory gaps are dose related and worse when the interval between doses stretches.
What worked for you, and how long did it take before it worked?
It gets smaller. Not easy, smaller. That distinction kept me going.
Interdose restlessness is distinct from the original symptom and worth naming separately. Not on diazepam but the pattern is familiar.

Is it normal to feel worse before better? Nobody told me that.
You have two changes at once here. You cannot attribute anything until one of them moves.
Half of what people describe as tolerance is a change in the underlying condition, and the two need different answers.
Ask for the longer appointment slot. Ten minutes is not enough for a complex history and pretending otherwise wastes both your time.
Sorry for the basic question, but how do you actually start one of these diaries?
Same here.
Ten percent cuts. Slower is faster. Flat mood was my main issue with diazepam too.
Bring a list. Embarrassment makes everyone forget things, including you.
How do you tell the difference between the drug working and just a good week?
Access to mugs should be on the clinical questionnaire.
Following this because I am in the same place and have no idea what to ask at the appointment.
