Venlafaxine for two months and now what

Question for the people who have taken venlafaxine long term: did the raised blood pressure ever settle, or is that just the price of admission?

Timing matters more than I expected. Taking it at the same hour every day made the raised blood pressure less random.

Cold and heat sensitivity turned out to be part of it and is barely mentioned anywhere.

What I was not prepared for is how much of this is administrative rather than clinical.

Has anyone else found a way to describe this that lands in an appointment?

Generic switch on escitalopram - real or imagined?

I have been on escitalopram for a year and the thing nobody warned me about is the first fortnight nausea.

What I was not prepared for is how much of this is administrative rather than clinical.

The rebound is worse than the original problem for about a fortnight and then it eases.

The first three weeks are worse than the condition and then it turns, which nobody says clearly enough.

Genuinely open to being told my reasoning is wrong here.

Zopiclone for two years and now what

Question for the people who have taken zopiclone long term: did the next-day fog ever settle, or is that just the price of admission?

I have tried three of the alternatives and next-day fog was the problem with two of them.

The generic switch was the only change and it was noticeable for about three weeks.

The dose has stayed the same for two years and the effect has not, which is the whole puzzle.

Two in the morning waking is the pattern with this class and nobody warns you.

Any suggestions welcome, especially the boring practical ones.

My doctor moved me from one benzodiazepine to Valium (diazepam) and the first three weeks were rough in a way nobody prepared me for. I asked for the refusal to be noted in the record and got what I asked for within a week.

Went through a course of chlordiazepoxide and the aftermath was worse than the infection. Would like to compare notes.

Reference ranges shift between labs, so comparing results across two different labs is close to meaningless.

My pharmacist was more useful than the appointment, and it was a two minute conversation at the counter.

The taper matters more than the starting dose, and ten percent of the current dose is the number most people settle on.

Started Remeron (mirtazapine) three weeks ago for pain and I am trying to work out whether what I am feeling now is tolerance or something else.

Some days are fine and some are not and there is no pattern I can find, which makes it hard to plan anything.

The first 5 weeks were the worst and I nearly stopped. Glad I did not, but nobody said it would take that long.
